Open Beta Starts in March – All information about the test

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Blizzard finally announced the start date for the Diablo 4 Open Beta at an event. The start is in a few weeks. MeinMMO provides you with all the details.

When does the beta start? During the IGN Fan Fest on February 18th, Blizzard released two dates for the Diablo 4 Open Beta:

  • Friday, March 17 – Sunday, March 19: Pre-order Beta
  • Friday March 24 – Sunday March 26: Open Beta for everyone
  • So you will not be able to play in the corresponding, open test until the release on June 6th, but only for two weekends. We do not yet know whether another open test will follow.

The beta will take place on PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox. Here you can find all information about the open beta of Diablo 4.

How do I join? If you have digitally pre-ordered any of the editions of Diablo 4, you will automatically get access to the pre-order beta on March 17th. Once you have received a code, you must redeem it on the official website and select your preferred platform. You will then receive an email with a code for your platform.

You’ll likely be able to download the beta through the Battle.net client or your console’s store well in advance of the actual test. Further information on this will follow shortly.

    Open Beta: launch and content

For the beta, you can play the prologue and the entire first act of Diablo 4, but only up to level 25. After that, you can play as long as you want – just you won’t level up. You can find information about the story of Diablo 4 here.

Blizzard has not commented on the classes, so we assume that you can play and try out each of the 5 classes of Diablo 4, so:

  • barbarian
  • Druid
  • sorceress
  • Necromancer
  • huntress
  • Each of these classes has a special class mechanic that is also expected to be open for testing if available up to level 25. If you need help deciding, our quiz will tell you which class suits you:

Blizzard points out that this is a test and you may still encounter errors and unfinished content. So don’t expect a finished product and report bugs if you find any. The feedback is then used to improve the game.

Your character’s progress will carry over between beta weekends. But after that there is a wipe, so that everyone has to start over for the release on June 6th. There will also be a developer stream on February 28th with new information about the game.
