When does Diablo 4 open beta start?

When does it start? So far there is no concrete date for the start of the open beta. However, on 17./18. A big announcement will come in February, for which the boss has already teased a release period for the beta.

However, there are already some guesses from fans and experts as to when exactly the beta will take place:

  • already at the end of February, at least for a closed test
  • “sometime” between March and May
  • In mid-April, as the Diablo streamer wudijo suspects (via GameStar).
  • Since Diablo 4 relies much more on MMO elements, a more extensive test with many players would be helpful. An earlier date, i.e. mid-April at the latest, sounds the most likely.

Open Beta: Registration, pre-order and early access

How do I join the beta? So far, there’s only one known way to get involved in the open beta: you have to pre-order Diablo 4. It doesn’t matter which of the different versions you buy in advance.

You can find all the information about the editions of Diablo 4, their costs and content in our separate article. Note that the Collector’s Box does not contain the finished game!

What platform can I play on? Diablo 4 is coming to PC, PlayStation and Xbox. The open beta should be available for all platforms.

When can I play Diablo 4? If you pre-order Diablo 4, you can get started with the start of the open beta. We don’t yet know if the progress will be reset once it starts. That depends on how much has to be changed before the release.

Often the start of the open beta is already the “soft launch” and you can take all the progress into the finished game, which then only gets a larger patch for release.

Regardless of the beta, you can play as a pre-order for the Digital Deluxe or Ultimate Edition 4 days before the release, i.e. from June 2nd. Otherwise you can get started on June 6th – that’s the release of Diablo 4.

In our hub you will find all information about Diablo 4, the release, the classes and the story. You can also find a synopsis of the story here:

What can I play in the Open Beta? The scope of the open beta is not yet known. In each previous test, only excerpts from the game could be seen. In the open beta, however, we assume that there will be much more to see.

You will probably be able to see at least the first few hours of the campaign and the open world. However, each of the 5 release classes of Diablo 4 may not yet be available to you.

In our special you can read everything about the 5 classes from Diablo 4. We have included the gameplay of three of them for you here:

Overall, reaching the maximum level in Diablo 4 should take over 180 hours. It is therefore unlikely that you can already see all possible content in the beta.

As soon as we have more information on the Diablo 4 Open Beta, we will update this article.

Diablo 4 will be an important title, not only for Blizzard, but also for the entire genre – because the future prospects are rather bleak at the moment:
