The province’s COVID-19 vaccine bus is making a stop in London’s White Oaks neighborhood on Sunday.
Ontario’s GO-Vaxx bus, a mobile vaccination clinic inside a retrofitted Metrolinx vehicle, will offer shots to people outside the South London Neighborhood Resource Center at 1119 Jalna Blvd. from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Appointments for the clinic on wheels are required and can be made by visiting the province’s booking website at covid19.ontariohealth.ca or by calling 1-833-943-3900.
The time slots for Sunday’s London stop open at 8 am Saturday.
The clinic will provide first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to anyone five years of age and older and booster doses to anyone who is eligible.
The GO-Vax clinic is targeting an area of the city with one of the lowest COVID-19 vaccine coverage rates. In the N6E postal code, where the resource center is located, about 71 per cent of the total population has at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, compared to rates as high as 93 per cent in other London postal code zones.
Ontario’s three GO-Vaxx buses have administered more than 30,000 doses since they hit the road in August 2021.
The GO-Vaxx nozzles can administer about 250 to 300 doses each day.
People who can’t make it to the GO-Vaxx clinic Sunday can book an appointment at a mass vaccination clinic in the London area online at www.covidvaccinelm.ca .
Walk-in shots are also available at the Earl Nichols arena or at several pop-up clinics in the city over the next four weeks.
