Only one actor has appeared in Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit and the new Amazon series

The films from Tolkien’s universe are full of talented and versatile actors. But only one has made it into every single film in the franchise, and in different roles at that.

When you think of actors from Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit, you probably first think of prominent names like Ian McKellen, Elijah Wood, Orlando Bloom or Cate Blanchett. Yes, they did their job really well and showed great commitment during filming.

But there is another actor whose name is far less well known. Unlike his colleagues, he appears not only in the films of the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but also in the Hobbit films and the Amazon series The Rings of Power. Who is the unknown man?

Here you can see the trailer for the second season of The Rings of Power – you can find all the information on MeinMMO.

An Orc, a Nazgûl, a Dwarf

Which actor is it about? His name is Jed Brophy. You’ll probably recognize his face from the Hobbit films. In them, he plays a dwarf from Thorin’s company, Nori. Here you can see his face very clearly, which isn’t necessarily the case with his other roles.

In the Lord of the Rings trilogy, he can be seen in several different roles. In the first part, he plays a Nazgûl, one of the nine black riders who follow the Fellowship. In The Two Towers, he can be seen as the orc Snaga, who wants to eat the hobbits Merry and Pippin. In the same film, he can also be seen as the orc Sharku, who falls down a cliff with Aragorn and a warg.

But that’s not all. He also plays a rider of Rohan in the second part of the trilogy, although this only appears in the extended version. In The Return of the King, Jed Brophy plays an elf.

Why does the actor appear in every single film? The reason is simple: the actor is an old acquaintance of director Peter Jackson, which is why the filmmaker likes to include him in his films.

Who does Brophy play in the Amazon series? Brophy was keen to return to the first season of The Rings of Power. Here, too, he plays an orc, Vrath, Adar’s deputy.

The second season of the series has just started, and Brophy will probably be back. Maybe you’ll spot him under a generous layer of make-up and prosthetics. Speaking of make-up: did you know that an impressive image from Lord of the Rings was created without any make-up at all, but was actually a real injury?
