Only 5 days left on Netflix: Tarantino masterpiece, which he himself considers to be his best film

Only 5 days left on Netflix Tarantino masterpiece which he

Five years ago, Quentin Tarantino released his last film to date, after which he now only wants to make one more. Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood is a typical work of the director, peppered with several memorable moments and brilliant acting performances. But the work is above all one nostalgic, detailed journey back in time to your own childhood of the director.

You can still stream Once Upon a Time in Hollywood with a subscription on Netflix. But you should hurry, because the film is only available there until November 12th.

Catch it quickly on Netflix: Tarantino’s hit revives old Hollywood

The supposedly penultimate Tarantino film takes us back to Los Angeles in 1969, where the career of Hollywood star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) is slowly on the decline. His long-time friend and stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) wants to comfort him. At the same time, the young actress Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie) is celebrating her first flights of fancy in the city of stars and starlets, while the dark threat of cult leader Charles Manson is brewing in the background.

Similar to Inglourious Basterds For Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the director mixes fact with fictionto rewrite the course of world history at some point. It’s slowly becoming clear that Tarantino wants to say goodbye to the business of being a film director. His ninth work is surrounded by a wistful, sensitive tone with which Tarantino has staged an almost light-hearted epic with the charisma of a farewell work.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood drifts through this bygone LA with the usual top stars like DiCaprio and Pitt, in which the director nostalgically embraces every street, every neon sign and every comfortable, squatted cinema seat. He playfully places his film characters in real film history when Rick suddenly appears in scenes from real classics or Mike Moh as the fictional Bruce Lee looks shockingly similar to the real role model.

Nevertheless, a dark storm is slowly brewing in this Tarantino film, which the director… excessively violent finale discharges. If you didn’t like the filmmaker’s typical depiction of violence before, you’ll hardly be able to believe your eyes here.

Tarantino considers Once Upon a Time in Hollywood to be his best film

The personal connection through memories of his own childhood may make the director particularly proud of the film. In any case, according to Variety, he said as a guest on Howard Stern’s 2022 SiriusXM show that Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is his personal favorite of all the films he has made so far.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is available with a Netflix subscription until November 12, 2024.
