The Netherlands has 27,000 event catering companies, 16,000 restaurants and a total of as many snack bars, fast food restaurants, lunchrooms, food stalls and ice cream parlors. Cafés were once the largest group, but now there are only 8,000 left. North Holland, South Holland and North Brabant have the most restaurants, cafés, snack bars and catering companies. These three provinces together account for 59 percent of all food and beverage facilities in our country.
