Tavistock residents keen to know more about the new well supply planned for the village are invited to an upcoming second “consultation centre.”
Oxford County is hosting this online session on Tuesday, Sept. 26, to provide an update on the project and its design concepts for the well. The public will also have an opportunity to ask questions during this public consultation center.
At the first session, held in December 2022, residents were told the preferred site for a new well was located on Hope Street West, near Optimist Park. The intention of this new well is to “ensure the long-term security and supply of drinking water” in Tavistock, county officials said.
The county began a class environmental study to explore potential village well sites in 2021.
Any comments on the ongoing study or the information presented at the public consultation center can be submitted until midnight on Friday, Oct. 6.
The Tuesday session is scheduled for 6 pm to 8 pm Log-in details are available at www.oxfordcounty.ca/speakup.
