One year after the midwife rebellion. There are still big differences between the maternity clinics. The measures taken so far are not sufficient, says Hannah Dahlbäck.

“There is no earmarked money”

There are midwives out in the country, but they opt out of the maternity clinics because of the work environment. At the same time, maternity clinics are crying out for experienced midwives. There is a big risk that we will end up in the same place again if the working environment is not improved. What has happened so far is far from enough to bring back those who left, or even to keep people, says Dahlbäck.
