One Piece Season 2 on Netflix: No Kingdom of Alabasta

The kingdom of Alabasta (or Arabasta) on Sandy Island will apparently not appear in the Netflix adaptation for the time being. At least not in season 2, as the location list shows. Looking at the comments under Oda’s message, however, most fans seem to think that’s OK: Better to postpone it until season 3 than to squeeze such an important location to the end of a season, that’s the consensus among many.

But whether it’s the script or the casting, I keep insisting on this or that, which makes showrunner Matt scream “AAARRGH!” and Netflix scream “NOOO!” and Tomorrow Studios scream “WHAT?” while everyone tears their hair out. And this is despite how close we got in Season 1.

That’s not even part of the contract, by the way. It’s a verbal promise. I hope you appreciate how incredible and determined they are to keep their word.
