With the live-action film adaptation One Piece, Netflix landed a hit last year, which is one of the best series of 2023. However, there was no trace of the original anime One Piece on the streaming service for years. That will change on January 13, 2024: The anime adventures of Luffy and Co. are streaming on Netflix for the first time. However, there is a huge limitation.
One Piece is now streaming new episodes weekly on Netflix
Anyone hoping to finally be able to stream all 1088 episodes of One Piece to date will unfortunately be disappointed. For now, the streamer will only watch the Egghead arc and that’s it the latest episodes weekly and will be shown in the original Japanese with subtitles with a one-week delay from the broadcast on Crunchyroll. Let’s start with episode 1089!
What is the Egghead Arc? This is the first story section of the final saga of One Piece. After more than 25 years, we are actually heading towards an end. The beginning of the final chapter takes Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat gang to the mysterious and futuristic island of Egghead, where the pirates encounter, among other things, the scientist Dr. Meet vegapunk.

The previous story arc of One Piece required a lot of patience from fans. We spent four years and almost 200 episodes with Luffy in the country of Wano. It is not yet known how many episodes the new adventure from Egghead will contain. In the manga, this arc has been running since 2022 and is scheduled to conclude this year.
Stream One Piece anime: Will all episodes be coming to Netflix soon?
If you want to watch the One Piece anime in Germany, you only have a few options. All episodes are available on Crunchyroll, but only in the original Japanese language with subtitles. A possibility, all old episodes with German dubbed version To this day there is no streaming. These are only available on DVD and Blu-ray.
However, the inclusion of the latest One Piece episodes in Netflix’s offering is a first glimmer of hope that the previous adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates could one day be shown there. In some other countries (including the USA), hundreds of One Piece episodes are already in Netflix’s catalog.
One Piece has become a strong brand for Netflix, not least thanks to the live-action series, which the streamer is diligently expanding in the future. In addition to a second season of the Netflix adaptation, a prequel anime, Monsters: 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation, will be released on January 21st. Netflix is also working on an anime remake: The One Piece will recreate the stories of Luffy and Co. from the beginning.
