A lone man entered a gold shop with “a sharp object” in the center of Jakobsberg on Thursday afternoon.
The man did not take anything from the store and no one was injured.
– It is a lone man with some masking. He left the store running and we are now searching the area, so far without success, says Carina Skagerlind, police spokesperson.
The incident is classified as an attempted robbery according to the police.

A train with 50 to 70 passengers has derailed in Norway, reports NRK and other Norwegian media.
It is currently unclear if anyone has been injured. Emergency services are said to be on site.
The Nordlandsbanan, on which the accident occurred, runs between Trondheim and Bodø in Northern Norway.
According to VG, it is the locomotive and the first wagon that derailed.

Two entrepreneurs deceived and exploited nine Thai berry pickers in their business in the summer of 2023. Now the Court of Appeal determines the prison sentence of 2.5 years for the couple who are convicted of gross human exploitation in nine cases.
The entrepreneurs, a man and a woman in their 40s, misled the berry pickers that they would receive the minimum wage according to the Swedish collective agreement and work eight hours a day, five days a week.
Instead, they had to work long days without days off and were paid per kilo picked. This resulted in them receiving between 18 and 29 percent of the contractual salary after two months.

A bus and a moped collided on Thursday on the Södra railway road in the middle of Västervik.
According to the rescue service’s management operator, a person has left the scene in an ambulance. The extent of the damage is unclear.

Klarna’s board member Mikael Walther has left the company’s board, according to a document at Companies House.
According to information in the Financial Times, among others, there has already been a conflict between the company’s two co-founders, Sebastian Siemiatkowski and Victor Jacobsson. Walther represents the latter on the board.

Säpo chief Charlotte von Essen and National Police chief Petra Lundh are invited to the Riksdag’s justice committee to give their views on gang criminals’ infiltration of politics, reports Ekot.
The background is that it emerged that a person who attended Jimmie Åkesson’s wedding at the end of September has connections to a criminal motorcycle gang. This has led to questions about what safety assessments were done before.

Indian authorities are evacuating up to 1.5 million people in the states of West Bengal and Odisha in eastern India due to the approaching cyclone Dana, the BBC reports.

The final repository of used nuclear fuel will be approved by Mark and the Environmental Court, the court announces.
The permit includes a facility for encapsulation in Simpevarp, Oskarshamn municipality, and a final repository in Forsmark, Östhammar municipality.
The permit applies to the nuclear waste from the twelve reactors (six reactors in operation today) that are part of the ongoing Swedish nuclear power program, but does not apply to any new nuclear power reactors.
“SKB (Swedish Nuclear Fuel Management) may deposit approximately 6,000 canisters with approximately 12,000 tons of nuclear waste in the final repository,” writes the court.
