An 87-year-old Palmerston man has died as a result of a serious collision between a passenger vehicle and a commercial vehicle in North Perth Monday morning.

One person has died as a result of a serious collision between a passenger vehicle and a commercial vehicle in North Perth Monday morning, Perth County OPP say.

Shortly after 11:45 am, Perth County and Wellington County provincial police, along with Wellington County paramedics and the Minto Fire Department, responded to a serious crash on Perth Line 91 west of Perth Road 140 in North Perth.

Police said the driver of the passenger vehicle, 87-year-old John Cherry of Palmerston, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

Perth County OPP and the West Region OPP traffic incident management and enforcement team continued to investigate the collision Monday evening, so Perth Line 91 between Perth Road 140 and Perth Road 136 was temporarily closed.
