Connected – Johnny Mnemonic imagines a future in 2021 where the entire world is connected through the internet. Reeves takes on the role of the titular cyber courier, who… Memory chip in his brain implemented. This allows him to smuggle large amounts of data – a dangerous business.
His latest assignment will be his downfall. As Johnny, a considerable load stolen data which he is supposed to bring from Beijing to Newark, he has to deal with a horde of Yakuza who work for the head of a powerful corporation. He definitely doesn’t want the data in Johnny’s head to get into circulation.

Networked – Johnny Mnemonic was neither well received by critics nor audiences. The New York Times said at the time: “A shoddy imitation of Blade Runner and Total Recall.” The science fiction film flopped hard at the box office. With a budget of $26 million, Johnny Mnemonic was able to
just $19 million play in. Over time, it has achieved cult status in certain circles.
