The Legend of Vox Machina comes from an idea by Matthew Mercer, who first wrote the story as part of the web series Critical Role as Dungeons & Dragons campaign developed. Now he tells his adventures in animation – and very convincingly. When we listed the 20 best new series of 2022 that hardly anyone knows, The Legend of Vox Machina could not be missing.
Of all the new fantasy series, The Legend of Vox Machina certainly has the grittiest, goryest humor to date. Based on the hit Critical Role D&D campaign, the animated series follows a group of budding heroes as they take on various quests. Thanks to the excellent chemistry of the characters and the lovingly teasing wit, it is easy to want to become part of this well-rehearsed fantasy family.
With an average rating of 7.7 out of 10 points The Legend of Vox Machina on Moviepilot is currently well ahead of House of the Dragon (7.1 out of 10 points). Even celebrated fantasy series like Wednesday (7.6 out of 10 points) and Sandman (7.1 out of 10 points) don’t come close.
When does The Legend of Vox Machina season 2 start?
Season 2 of The Legend of Vox Machina begins on January 20, 2023 on Amazon Prime. Twelve episodes await us again. Exactly what the release will look like is not yet clear. Season 1 was released in three-episode blocks on a weekly basis.
