Among the farewells that were particularly painful, was also the sudden death of Linda Reagan (Amy Carlson). He shocked not only fans, but also the actress herself.
One of the saddest Blue Bloods deaths surprised the actress
Carlson played the wife of Donnie Wahlberg’s character Danny since season 1. From season 5 onwards she was one of the main characters, what with her sudden, Death in a helicopter accident, which was only mentioned in conversation makes it all the more shocking. Carlson had decided not to renew her contract with the series producers. But even she was surprised by the hard-hearted treatment of her character, as she reported to Deadline in 2017:
I feel bad that she died like that. I did not know that [die Produzenten] would do that [und] was surprised. I would have done it differently.

She would have shown her character’s death in at least one scene, to give fans a moment to mourn, Carlson said. She is therefore also available for a Blue Bloods return, for example in a flashback.
In the 14 years now, fans of the series have had to experience a whole series of heartbreaking character deaths. Currently, the filming of the last season of Blue Bloods alone has many people fighting back tears.
