The film directed by Fatih Akin (Rheingold, Gegen die Wand) works true events back and impresses above all with its disgusting backdrop. Sometimes you can feel the alcohol-clogged spaces through which the characters move. The Golden Glove is a film that thrives on repulsive places.
Also great: Jonas Dassler as Fritz Honka. Behind the elaborate mask the actor is barely recognizable. Not only the appearance of the figure is remarkable. Dassler gives us a glimpse of a lost fringe existence that becomes more disturbing with every scene. You won’t forget this film in a hurry.
