A 37-year-old businessman is stabbed in the street and reincarnated as a slime in a fantasy world. Using his special abilities to found a nation of monsters, this is the whimsical premise of one of the most popular Japanese anime franchises of all time. Now My Rebirth as a Slime in Another World – The Film: Feuerrote Bande is also making it into selected German cinemas. And introduces an exciting new character there.

In the film, the slime Rimuru Tempest (voice: Peggy Pollow) and his comrades have to rid the land of Raja of an evil curse, who robs the ruler Towa (Gabrielle Pietermann) of her vitality.

In the queen’s entourage, the heroes surprisingly meet the ogre warrior Hiiro (Marios Morenos Gavrilis), whom Rimuru’s henchman Benimaru (Roman Wolko) knows from his youth. But the long lost friend initially hostile to the group.

The result is a gripping fantasy story that not only appeals to anime fans. The world of the slime franchise is brought to life in Feuerrote Bande with great dramaturgical skill and attention to detail. In particular the opulent battle sequences are really impressive.

Fans of the slime reincarnation universe will be pleased that Rimuru’s story has now made it into cinemas after the light novel, manga and anime series. The Story of Fire Red Gang takes place after the second season of the series. But don’t worry: the film doesn’t change the main thread of the narrative. It’s just an enriching spotlight on a new location.
