STALKER 2 is one of the most anticipated games on Steam, but now the developers have postponed the release again.
When is the new release? STALKER 2 has postponed its release date from March 30, 2024 to September 5, 2024.
The release of the shooter had previously been postponed a few times.
Why was the release postponed? As the developers announced in a statement on X.com (formerly Twitter), STALKER 2 currently does not meet the technical standards that the studio and fans have for the survival shooter. The team therefore wants to take a little more time.
However, that does not change the fact that earlier this year we still witnessed a certain number of technical shortcomings that keep STALKER 2 below the expected standards for the definitive experience that our fans are waiting for.
While there’s absolutely no way to make another delay sound any less dire, we’ve decided to be clear about our reasons for postponing the game in favor of another wave of polishing.

What exactly is STALKER 2? This is the successor to the famous survival shooter from 2007. You are once again in Chernobyl, where there was a nuclear catastrophe a few years earlier that created strange anomalies.
Since the catastrophe, the flora and fauna have mutated and the city of Pripyat is an absolutely restricted military zone where you will encounter bandits and nasty characters. The whole thing is accompanied by a dark, eerie atmosphere.

In addition to the shooter gameplay, STALKER 2 will also have survival elements. So you have to pay attention to your hunger and sleep, treat injuries and protect yourself from radioactive radiation.
Although the release of STALKER 2 has been pushed back a bit, the title remains a game to keep an eye on in 2024. For us, it is still one of the 10 most promising shooters on Steam.
