The big DLC Kingdom of the Immortals (“Immortal Empires”) for Total War: Warhammer 3 will be released on August 23. The strategy game has tens of thousands of fans who are all eagerly awaiting the update.
What is that title? Immortal Empires is a free update for Total War: Warhammer 3. It unites the factions of all predecessors in a gigantic campaign of conquest in the new strategy game.
Why is Immortal Empires so important? Total War: Warhammer 3 was released on February 17, 2022 and, according to Metacritic, is the best strategy game of 2022 with 86%. It was one of the best-selling games on Steam even before its release.
However, Warhammer 3 is still absolutely incomplete. New factions, generals and generally a reason to play more often are missing. The campaign gets boring relatively quickly. But that will change with Immortal Empires.
The campaign loses its annoying mechanics. Instead, the game is played for conquest and given the size of the map, a round can easily last several dozen hours. Thousands of fans of the popular strategy game series are currently waiting for the update.
In contrast to its predecessors, Warhammer 3 offers multiplayer for up to 8 players, who can even act simultaneously. In Warhammer 2 you still had to take turns. And how great the demand for Immortal Empires is is shown by the number of players (via steamcharts.com):
Since the Total War games can also be played via the Epic Games Store and in some cases with the Xbox Game Pass, the numbers are still missing. In the video you can see the trailer for Immortal Empires:

What’s in Immortal Empires? The special thing about Immortal Empires is that the free DLC combines all games and combines them into a single campaign. 278 factions are then in the game and expands the playable peoples in the 3rd part with popular races like:
Because the Warhammer universe is vast, the races are also diverse, bringing with them different mechanics and fantasies. Unlike Warcraft, for example, Warhammer is “dirtier”, more brutal and is clearly aimed at adults.
By the way: Even if the DLC is free across the board, you must own the other Total War parts and race DLCs if you want to play them in the Immortal Empires campaign. You can easily join other games, but then you only have access to the Part 3 races.
When is Immortal Empires coming? In a Q&A on YouTube, the developers revealed that Immortal Empires will launch on August 23 for PC. However, it is a beta in name, although the update is said to be complete.
According to the developers, this is due to the fact that the gigantic dimensions can lead to errors that you want to iron out over time.
However, the timing is bad, at least for German gamers, because gamescom 2022 will also start on August 23. Many fans will certainly want to show up there, since it is a physical event again this year and can only start later with Immortal Empires.
