Apparently there is a feature in Pokémon GO that has remained undiscovered to this day. And this despite the fact that data miners found evidence of this six years ago.
What feature is it about? The feature, which apparently remained undiscovered by the community and uncommented by Niantic for 6 years, is the so-called bargain catch, or Critical Catch in English. This is a feature from the Pokémon games in which the bargain catch is random and greatly increases the chance of catching it. As early as 2017, data miners discovered clues about the bargain catch in Pokémon GO.
In the case of Pokémon GO, bargain hunting works a little differently. As the community on Reddit reports, the bargain catch in Pokémon GO is not a random event, but can be triggered specifically. In addition, the chance of catching is not only increased slightly, but also increases to 100%.
We’ll link the Reddit post here:
100% chance of catching with Bargain Catch
How does bargain hunting work? To activate the bargain catch in Pokémon GO, you have to hit the Pokémon with the Pokéball at the right moment when catching it. You have to hit the circle, which gets smaller as you catch a Pokémon, exactly when it is as small as possible. In other words, you hit the trapping circle exactly at the last moment before it grows big again.
If you succeed, the Bargain Catch will be activated and the Pokémon will be 100% caught. This seems like a very strong feature that was previously unknown, especially when it comes to hunting for the rare and hard-to-catch Galar birds.
What does the community say about this? After trainer Zombie_Alpaca_Lips reported about it on Reddit, it didn’t take long for other trainers to investigate his theory – with success. I was skeptical, but I think you’re right. I made 3 critical catches in the last few casts to test this. I’m very impressed that you discovered this!, comments one trainer.
Instinctively I didn’t believe this, but I had a bunch of Pokémon tasks to test. Even though I wasn’t very good at it, I had 4 excellent throws that I was confident were as small as I thought they could be and it really worked every time, reports another trainer.
Does the bargain catch work with all balls? The trainer who discovered the feature reports that he successfully tested it with Poké, Super and Hyper Balls.
So it seems like Niantic has had this feature in the game for ages without communicating it.
What do you say to that? Have you ever tried this yourself? Have you perhaps even noticed this yourself? Feel free to check out the rest of the December events in Pokémon GO.
