One of the biggest FIFA 23 Twitch streamers says he has to force himself to play for content

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Nick “runthefutmarket” (23) is one of the biggest streamers on FIFA on Twitch. He is considered a Transfermarkt professional, and his trading tips and analyzes are valued by the community. But he just doesn’t enjoy the current FIFA 23, he even says the game has improved compared to previous years.

What streamer is this? The streamer, who also appears online as “Nick RTFM”, is one of the largest content creators in FIFA worldwide.

He streams hundreds of hours of Ultimate Team every year and has built a solid reputation in the community for his tips and opinions. But for the current FIFA 23, Nick RTFM lacks the motivation.

In one stream, Nick explains that FIFA is at a strange point right now, he’s having to force himself to play for content.

What bugs NickRTFM on FIFA 23? In a stream, the content creator talks about his lack of motivation and tries to explain why the current release doesn’t trigger the same enthusiasm in him as its predecessors.

NickRTFM says he’s not in a bad mood or even angry, in fact he’s bored with FIFA at the moment. He would log in every day and play a few matches, but then he quickly got tired of it.

  • FIFA is too casual, thinks NickRTFM. During the week it is quite pleasant, he likes to play the qualifiers for the Weekend League, according to the streamer. But even in the Weekend League he lacks the feeling of a real challenge.
  • NickRTFM lacks incentives to grind. He used to play Division Rivals every day, trying different cards and combinations. Now he has nothing to do after 2 or 3 games. The qualifiers during the week are the only thing he enjoys, but they are not infinitely playable.
  • Meta-Abuse interferes with NickRTFM more in FIFA 23 than in other games. To a certain extent this is the case in every game, but in FIFA meta-abuse is a problem, especially in the Elite Division. You only encounter frustrating opponents there who all use the same strong players as Mbappé.
  • The rewards for higher ranks in the Weekend League are not desirable enough for NickRTFM. The streamer believes that for the average person who doesn’t make money from FIFA, there is virtually no motivation to try to rank higher than rank 5. The rewards for rank 1 are not strong enough to justify the extra effort. Even for streamers like him, the rewards wouldn’t provide enough content.
  • NickRTFM sees the root of the problems in the gameplay. Although this has improved slightly compared to previous years, it is currently too automated and not varied enough. The streamer judged that the gameplay itself would not result in any fun, so you would only play for the rewards.
  • Even trading, which NickRTFM used to spend a lot of time on, is not appealing to him at the moment. The market is currently pretty dead, he really has to force himself to trade for content, according to the streamer.

This is what NickRTFM suggests: To solve the problems, the streamer suggests revising the rewards. However, he is by no means calling for the rewards for rank 5 of FUT Champions to be degraded. Rather, the rewards for the higher ranks should be improved.

If there was an incredibly good pack for rank 1, content creators like him would be “grinding like crazy” to grab the pack. Then he would have more motivation to play and the spectators, who can only dream of such ranks, would have something to see.

For now, however, NickRTFM is pessimistic that such a change will happen.

There is also frustration in the German streaming scene for FIFA. Elias “EliasN97” Nerlich, the biggest streamer on FIFA, actually enjoys a good image. Now, however, he was completely wrong in choosing his new sponsor and came under criticism.
