As Variety reports, special effects artist Christine Overs broke her wrist on set and opened Sandcastle $190,000 in damages sued. The production company took responsibility for the accident, but did not want to pay the required amount. A court case is now to decide the case.
Disney Fantasy Remake: Is Ariel 2 Coming?
The 1989 original has received a direct-to-DVD sequel eleven years after its theatrical release with Little Mermaid 2, which could potentially serve as a template for a second part of the remake. So far, Disney has such a project though not officially announced yet. Arielle actress Halle Bailey has indicated that she is interested in Arielle 2.
