Action stars didn’t have time for Full Metal Jacket back then

According to IndieWire, one of the films starring Arnold Schwarzenegger almost played along would have. The director wanted to personally recruit the star for the role, which will be played by Adam Baldwin in the final film.

At the time, however, Schwarzenegger turned down the part because Full Metal Jacket was filmed prior to its 1987 release at a time when the star in his greatest films like Predator and The Phantom Commando.

As additionally reported by IndieWire also asked Bruce Willis for Full Metal Jacket. The action star also declined at the time, as he was about to start filming Moonlighting: The Model and the Snoop.
