One of the best shooter players in the world on Twitch explains why he avoids CS2

The Twitch streamer Tenz is considered one of the best shooter players in the world, but apparently on Counter-Strike 2 he doesn’t feel like it.

Who is it about? Tyson “Tenz” NGO was active as a professional in CS: GO and Valorant for four years and played for Cloud 9 and the Sentinels in the period. With the Sentinels, Tenz won the Valorant Masters twice – 2024 in Madrid and 2021 in Reykjavik. On the final day in Reykjavik, he was even elected as the most valuable player (MVP).

In September 2024, Tenz ended his career as an e-athlete to work for the Sentinels as a content creator. He has over 4.2 million followers on Twitch and regularly streams in front of around 8,000 spectators (via Sullygnome). His videos regularly reach over 150,000 views on YouTube.

Tenz is primarily known for his incredibly good Aim and a strong response time. There is, for example, a clip on YouTube with 1.8 million, in which he gambles Aimlabs, i.e. an aim trainer in which only balls are shot. However, it is so good that even such a comparatively unspectacular gameplay fascinates shooter fans.

On Twitch, Tenz now spoke about CS2 and why he doesn’t like to play the popular shooter. A clip of the statements was shared on Reddit.

Tenz criticizes too much “run and gun” in CS2

What does he say about CS2? Tenz explained in a live stream that he would probably currently play CS: GO if there was still. He is not a big fan of CS2, because many gunfights feel like “run and gun” for him.

Tenz explains that he loved the Spray Control from CS: GO-the ability to fire shots despite the spray pattern (such as: the “pattern”, in which shots hit). Overall, it felt very good for him to invest time to master the Spray Control and the Movement.

In CS2, however, the weapons spray feels by chance and on top of that it is often shot by moving players. He also criticizes that worse players can eliminate him more often in CS2.

What about CS2? CS2 has 2 pages: On the one hand, it is extremely successful and on the other hand, it cannot detach itself from the continued criticism of many active players. Nevertheless, the shooter recently reached the highest value on February 17, 2025, at the same time active player since May 2023 – at that time it was still CS: GO (via Steamdb).

The biggest point of criticism is still the ongoing cheating problem that Valve does not really get under control-and is therefore subject to the same fate as many other shooters, such as Call of Duty or Rainbow Six: Sieges.

Despite the problems, Counter-Strike naturally has many fans, otherwise it would not pull millions of players onto the servers every day. Among these players are also some celebrities that are known from other areas from the gaming, such as professional footballers: the most expensive footballer ever has 11,000 hours in a shooter on Steam, community: “Should touch grass”
