It’s felt unbearably long after Only Murders in the Building left us with huge question marks following the Season 1 finale. Only one thing was clear: the story of two older men and a young woman who ran a hobby podcast suddenly solve a murder caseis one of the best series of 2021.
Now it’s finally going on. Since June 28 are the first two episodes of season 2 available on Disney+. The remaining episodes will follow in the coming weeks. And the first pictures already suggested: Only Murders in the Building will also provide some surprises in season 2.
Murder meets comedy: Season 1 of Only Murders in the Building was so good on Disney+
Forgotten actor Charles (Steve Martin), mysterious artist Mabel (Selena Gomez) and bankrupt theater genius Oliver (Martin Short) have two things in common: they live in the same New York building and love true crime podcasts. So when one of their neighbors is found dead, they do the only obvious thing – start a podcast and solve the alleged murder themselves.

For many, Only Murders in the Building seemed like one at first perfect satire on the true crime hype. How the three dissimilar friends stumble from one clue and suspect to the next is not only incredibly funny, but also really exciting.
The closer Mabel, Oliver and Charles get, the more emotional and touching the series also becomes. The perfect show for fans of unusual comedywho are not afraid of a little blood. And definitely one of the best series of the last year.
Only Murders in the Building has several important questions to answer in Season 2 (slight spoilers!)
The first season of Only Murders in the Building ended with one shocking twist: Just as the chaos trio is about to toast the successful murder investigation, Mabel’s apartment suddenly shows up a new corpse on. As the three bend over the dead body in shock, the police show up – and arrest Oliver, Charles and Mabel in front of the assembled neighborhood.
This finale made waiting for new episodes an ordeal. Who committed the murder this time and why blame the podcast trio? And: How is star podcaster Cinda Canning (Tina Fey) involved in all this, who appeared suspiciously quickly with a microphone at the new crime scene? The answers – and probably a lot of new questions – are now available on Disney +.
