Fans of neat sci-fi action can rejoice. Just in time for the weekend, the entire Hunger Games series is now available on Amazon Prime Video. The much-loved series about the wayward Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence)’s uprising against a tyrannical system and its morbid death games includes four films.
Sci-fi action on Amazon Prime: The Hunger Games prequel is coming soon
In the process, Katniss transforms from a humble resident of an impoverished district first into a lower-class icon and then into the proud heroine of a rebellion. The series based on the book by Suzanne Collins did not come last thanks to gripping action and grandiose acting well received by critics and audiences.
No wonder, then, that with The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes 2023 a prequel to come to the cinema. The sci-fi prehistory is excellently cast with Peter Dinklage, for example. Among other things, it is intended to highlight the rise of Coriolanus Snow (in the original series: Donald Sutherland), the cold-blooded lord of the Hunger Games.
For obvious reasons, the prequel will have little to do with Katniss Everdeen. If you don’t know their adventures yet, you can find them on Amazon from today plenty of time to catch up on the sci-fi series. In addition to Lawrence and Sutherland, the tetralogy also includes Liam Hemsworth and Woody Harrelson.
