A secret organization agent travels back in time to change the course of history in Australian sci-fi thriller Predestination. The temporal agent had in the mid 1970s survived badly injured in a bomb blast. Now he gets a new face – that of Ethan Hawke – and with it a new chance. In 1963 he is supposed to stop the bomber and meets a mysterious person (Sarah Snook) who tells him her life story.
While other films try to simplify the contradictions of time travel, Predestination takes on the subject head on with courage. The story thus hits many fascinating hooks, but it also needs to be followed very carefully. Stick around and you’ll be rewarded with an incredible ending.
