One of the best sci-fi films of last year that saved a huge franchise from extinction

Predator is one of the most popular sci-fi action films of the 80s and spawned a whole series of sequels. A little over 30 years later, the franchise seemed to have reached its end. Until Prey appeared on Hulu and Disney+. The surprise hit of 2022 is finally available to pre-order on 4K Blu-ray.

Prey saves sci-fi series with plot that jumps 300 years into the past

Unlike the other parts of the Predator series, Prey is not set in the future or present, but in rural America in the 18th century. There the young commander Naru (Amber Midthunder) is confronted with the Predator monster and has to escape defend themselves against the one-man army with the simplest means.

The film by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) returns to the roots of the franchise and replaces the storm of effects of its unsuccessful predecessor Predator – Upgrade with a gripping game of cat and mouse.

When will Prey be released on Blu-ray?

If you want to put the latest part of the action series on your shelf, you’ll have to wait a little longer. The 4K Blu-ray of the film will be released on December 8, 2023 in trade. A second part of the sci-fi hit has been under discussion for a long time.
