Science fiction doesn’t need big effects or a $200 million budget to keep us glued to the screen. In the case of Sci-Fi insider tips In 2017’s The Endless, the story slowly creeps under the skin until it unfolds with a wild bang.

In The Endless, two brothers return to their UFO cult for a day
The story begins with the two brothers Justin and Aaron Smith, who live in precarious conditions after escaping from the cult 10 years ago. Completely unexpectedly, they receive a video cassette from the commune that hints at a terrible event. From then on, things get stranger and stranger.
The brothers – by the way played by the two directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead – decide, partly curiously, partly reluctantly, to return to the spooky place of their childhood. But only for one day. Apart from the fact that everyone in the commune is extremely friendly and just as young as they were 10 years ago, a bizarre trip unfolds for the brothers and for us.
The Endless on Amazon Prime is a terrifying sci-fi mindfuck
The Endless is not a sci-fi horror that throws fake blood around and provokes disgusting scenes, but more sophisticated and creeping horror without predictable jump scares. But with even more brain twisting. The Endless is the malaise in filmin which two brothers return to their former UFO cult for a single day after a long time.
However, you will have to be patient, because you will only see the Answers to your many, many questions which will surely pop up more and more as you watch. In the end, everything makes sense, I promise! The Endless gave me goosebumps in several places and left me with a vague feeling that I actually only know from Twin Peaks.
Since I want to recommend the film to you and not give any spoilers, I won’t reveal any more about the plot at this point. The Endless directors have already followed up
While Benson and Moorhead still play the main roles of the brothers in The Endless, their next film was star-studded. Marvel actor and Falcon actor Anthony Mackie and Fifty Shades of Grey star Jamie Dornan are in the horror fantasy film Synchronic as friends and paramedics fighting a mysterious designer drug to see.
Benson and Moorhead had already caused a stir with their horror romance Spring – Love is a Monster, which you considered one of the best horror films of 2015. Both films are also highly recommended.
The two directors are now switched to Marvel and have directed a few episodes of Moon Knight and Loki, as well as all 18 episodes of the upcoming series Daredevil: Born Again.
