A short time later, the bags are packed and Kevin moves into a luxurious apartment on Fifth Avenue with his wife Mary Ann (Charlize Theron). Director Taylor Hackford stages the city as a labyrinth and a menacing place. Every room, no matter how impressive, that Kevin enters also harbors a darkness.

Keanu Reeves in The Devil’s Advocate
Looking at Reeves’ career, The Devil’s Advocate seems like a spiritual sequel to Bram Stoker’s Dracula. In which gorgeous horror film Likewise, a young lawyer gets lost in a strange world as supernatural events take their course and ideals are thrown overboard.
In the Devil’s Order you notice the origin as a 1990s thriller every second. One fascinating heaviness lies over the pictures, but actually it’s a seething that works towards the last few minutes, which comes up with a twist that hardly any film would dare to do in this unrestrained form these days.
At once bend and distort the baroque rooms into which Reeves is led as a prisoner without realizing it. A fire rages under the mighty buildings of the city, which also offers Pacino a perfect stage to let off steam and let the film end with a bang.
