Eden Lake went down in recent genre history as a devastating horror thriller with at times violent depictions of violence. The British film starring Kelly Reilly and Michael Fassbender was on the index in Germany for 13 years.
Today, on August 4th, Eden Lake is listed for the first time in Germany as a high-quality 4K mediabook published as previously reported. You can now get them at Amazon, MediaMarkt and Saturn uncut frames.

The Eden Lake Media Book
Why is the Eden Lake Mediabook worth it and why was the film indexed?
At idyllic Eden Lake, Jenny and Steve just want to relax. Unexpectedly, events turn against them. At first it’s just the provocations of a few young people. But when the leader’s attack dog is killed, the situation escalates. From now on, the kids are relentlessly chasing the adults in the woods, leaving behind the final borders that decide between life and death.
In our list of the 50 best horror movies of the 2000s, Eden Lake made it a respectable 38th place. In his justification, Moviepilot editor Max Wieseler wrote:
Similar to the French thriller Them, Eden Lake mixes a relentless Lord of the Flies homage with social criticism of the brutalized youth of Broken Britain.
The film shocked audiences with its raw violence and harsh ending when it was released in 2008. In Germany, the film was therefore only available in cut form for 13 years. The uncut version landed on the index in 2009. The re-evaluation took place in 2022, now there is the home cinema release of the uncut version.
