Black Christmas originally appeared in this country as Jessy – The Stairway to Death and has already received two remakes in 2006 and 2019 due to its cult status among horror fans. The classic from 1974 will be released on May 19th, with the as Pioneer of the slasher genre applies, also for the first time in 4K/UHD resolution on Blu-ray and can be pre-ordered now.
The limited media book appears with three different cover designs and can be ordered from Amazon for EUR 34.99 *, whereby the preferred design can be selected in the shop. This includes the 4K/UHD Blu-ray, a normal Blu-ray and, on top of that, a DVD with the film and bonus material. There is also an optional standard edition for 22.99 euros*, which only contains the 4K/UHD Blu-ray with bonus material.

In the Bob Clark classic, starring Olivia Hussey and Keir Dullea, a psychopathic killer keeps a girl fraternity and the police on their toes at Christmas. Instead of contemplative festivities, the phone rings constantly and the obscene calls quickly turn into threats and bloody violence.
While the killer is nearby and is constantly killing, the police are on the wrong track. The connections around Jessy are gradually revealed and the end also has a surprise in store. The early slasher flick, which is currently unstreamed anywhere, has a solid community rating of 6.6 on Moviepilot.

Another horror classic, but as a remake, is currently available in the form of Hellraiser: The Castle of Hell is new to the Paramount+ streaming service. At Amazon Prime you can watch one of the best horror comedies of recent years with body swapping in the flat rate, while at Netflix a far too unknown sci-fi horror kills every 2 minutes. Also in May, really good horror action from a Game of Thrones maker with disgusting mutants is coming to Germany.
