Today, at 10:05 p.m., RTL II will broadcast Tele 5 John Carpenter’s horror masterpiece Halloween – The Night of Horrors, with which Michael Myers as a slasher icon was born. Every horror fan must have seen the film, which was shot comparatively cheaply at the time.
Halloween is a horror milestone – despite the extremely low budget
After he died in 1963 as a little boy murdered his older sister and was taken to a sanatorium, Michael Myers managed to escape 15 years later. Back in his hometown of Haddonfield, he stalks young Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), eventually hunting her and her friends down in a murderous frenzy.

When John Carpenter filmed Halloween decades ago, he was just $325,000 to disposal. The director got the most out of the low budget and staged his horror film as a lesson in terms of eerie atmosphere and captivating suspense.
While the legendary mask by Michael Myers was made from a cheap Captain Kirk mask for $1.98, Halloween lives alongside the strong images full of slowly creeping horror, above all by John Carpenters incredible self-composed music. Surely everyone knows the ingenious Halloween theme these days.
