After great insider tips like The House of the Devil and The Innkeepers, Ti West with X one of the best horror movies of 2022 delivered. The slasher revolves around a young film crew who want to shoot a porn film in a remote country house. Gradually they fall victim to the older owners of the property.
One of the big highlights of X is leading lady Mia Goth, who shines in an amazing dual role as young porn star and murderous old woman. After X, Ti West surprisingly shot a prequel called Pearl, that the backstory of Goth’s spooky character told. Watch the first trailer with us now.

Horror master Ti West grabbed Avatar 2 boost for X prequel
The action of Pearl takes place at the time of the First World War in 1918 and tells the story of the younger Pearl, who was teased in X. Back in March, IndieWire reported that West was secretly filming the prequel right after filming.
After X, which was inspired by ’70s classics like Texas Blood Court, West drew on Pearl for Pearl Technicolor milestones from the 50’s and 60’s like Mary Poppins or great Douglas Sirk melodramas. He was even technically supported by the Avatar 2 crew, who came to the set for him during the breaks in James Cameron’s blockbuster.
