One of the best horror comedies of all time that has been given a horrible sequel

One of the best horror comedies of all time that

Two great horror comedies defined the 2000s. While Shaun of the Dead thrilled with pointed blood spatters in the first half, Zombieland advanced to the end of the decade absolute crowd pleaser. Tonight you can watch the extremely entertaining and charming 88 minutes on TV.

At the heart of Zombieland’s story are you four unequal figures, who come together in the zombie apocalypse and fight for their survival together. These are Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Wichita (Emma Stone), Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) and Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson).

  • Today on TV: Zombieland airs tonight at 10:50 p.m. on NITRO. There is no repetition. Alternatively, you can currently stream the film on Netflix with a subscription.
  • Zombieland is a perfect horror comedy and it deserves a better sequel

The story of Zombieland is told with a lot of humor, but also comes up with some scary pictures. Roughly right at the beginning when we see the outbreak of the zombie apocalypse in multiple bloody slow motion footage experience. What makes Zombieland so good is the perfect mix of horror and (black) humor.

But the heart of Zombieland is the cast: Eisenberg, Stone, Breslin and Harrelson have one Dynamics that you can’t resist and give the film one unexpected emotional twist. No wonder many fans wanted to know how the story continues. However, the sequel turned out to be a disappointment.

For ten years we’ve been waiting for Zombieland 2: Double is Better. That in 2019 the entire main cast came together again, looks like a miracle. Last but not least, Eisenberg and Stone have become popular stars in the meantime and Harrelson is always busy with film projects anyway.

It’s all the more annoying that Zombieland 2: Double is better than one tired second helping feels that nobody really wanted. Instead of a strong reunion, we got a movie that completely forgot why the original was so cool. Zombieland is still a hit for that.
