The deceptively cute dungeon crawler Cult of the Lamb (all major platforms) was one of the best games on Steam in 2022. But even a year and a half after release, the developers are still working hard and providing players with updates – and the latest one is really tough.
What kind of update is this? Since the developers of the indie hit Cult of the Lamb announced the new major update Sins of the Flesh in November 2023, the roguelite has become increasingly wicked:
With sex, weapons and alcohol, the only thing Cult of the Lamb is missing is the ability to steal cars and drive them around to compete with GTA 6. A fan apparently had a similar thought process and already requested the option to drive (via X).
Cult of Lamb already got a crossover with the indie darling Don’t Starve this year:
“Oh my God, it just keeps getting better.”
What are the reactions? The bite-sized announcements of new content are quite well received by players. The reaction to the announcement of firearms was already positive and the prospect of alcoholic drinks immediately put many fans in the Christmas spirit. We have compiled some of the reactions for you here:
You can watch the Christmas teaser here:
Other users are already trying to discover further innovations in the short teaser videos. Bishop Leshy actually seems to be wearing a dress – will there soon be an option to customize the clothing of his followers?
However, some players seem to feel a little claustrophobic at the prospect of so much new, wondering where they’re going to put a bar next to all their decorations and ritual necessities. However, it is still unknown whether there will be more space in the camp with the update.
Admittedly, even with nudity and guns, an indie roguelite with building elements doesn’t even turn into the next GTA 6. But if you can’t wait for the release of Rockstar’s gangster epic next year, we have 5 alternatives here for you. They each contain some of the core elements of GTA and could shorten the long waiting time until GTA 6.
