The Fabelmans tells the story of young Sammy Fabelman (Gabriel LaBelle), who died in January 1952 experienced something incredible: His parents (played by Carey Mulligan and Paul Dano) take him to the movies. Too bad this very filmic self-portrait failed at the box office. With a budget of $40 million (excluding marketing costs), The Fabelmans only managed to gross $45 million. That makes the film a flop. However, don’t let that put you off. Spielberg has created something very special here.
