One of the best fantasy series with 5 (!) films is available on Prime Day as a box for less than 25 euros

One of the best fantasy series with 5 films

The future of the famous fantasy pirate adventures with Johnny Depp is still in the stars, but as a downer, fans can currently secure the previous parts of Pirates of the Caribbean on Blu-ray for home cinema at a really low price.

For Prime subscribers, the standard box with all five parts of the series on Blu-ray currently only costs around 21 euros at Amazon. That’s only around 4 euros per film and according to price comparison sites, the films in this collection have never been cheaper.

This is what the Pirates of the Caribbean box offers

full 736 minutes playing time on five discs, the box collection on offer includes Dolby Digital 5.1 audio while following the adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow; starting with the first part Pirates of the Caribbean from 2003 up to Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales from 2017.

The cult mixture of fantasy, action and comedy in pirate garb is also extremely well received in the box on Amazon, because in almost 4,000 reviews there is average 4.8 out of 5 stars for the collection. The first parts in particular are considered young classics, while the later films don’t quite get close to the beginning for various reasons.

Future of Pirates of the Caribbean uncertain

According to producer Jerry Bruckheimer, there will be two scripts completed for the film series, but Johnny Depp is said not to be part of the two versions, although Bruckheimer wishes this to be the case. Nevertheless, the main actor unofficially slipped back into his prime role at the end of last year.

Meanwhile, a kind of reboot with Harley Quinn and Barbie actress Margot Robbie was also discussed, but the already advanced plans were overturned again. Therefore, no new Pirates of the Caribbean movie is officially in the works or in development at this time.

Alternatives to Pirates of the Caribbean

Die-hard genre fans will therefore have to make do with comparable productions from other sources. For example, there is an ingenious pirate series that is well suited for this and even has its own “Jack Sparrow”, but cannot be found on Netflix or Amazon. Disney’s still young fantasy film Haunted Mansion is also strongly reminiscent of the pirate adventures.
