Your Name was a gigantic success at the box office and grossed many times its budget. As the Japanese site Nikkan Gendai reports, the film’s production costs amount to 450 million yen, which is the equivalent of one budget of $3 million. There was also a marketing budget of 300 million yen, the equivalent of around 2 million US dollars.
In its home country of Japan alone, Your Name earned $233 million. The film is being shown worldwide a total of $382 million, according to Box Office Mojo’s numbers. This makes it the second most successful anime ever after Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train (507 million US dollars) and Spirited Away (395 million US dollars).
