The annual autumn Harry Potter marathon has been running at Sat.1 for two weeks. Today, on Saturday, we arrived at Harry Potter 3. The prisoner of Askaban is generally considered the best and most important part of the magical fantasy series. We explain further below why.
That’s what the fantasy film Harry Potter and the prisoner of Askaban is
Magic student Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) is now in the third year of Hogwarts, which begins under dark signs: the murderer Sirius Black (Gary Oldman) has fled the Askaban prison and apparently targets Harry. The school is therefore “protected” by the guards of the prison, the dementors.
Incredibly good and incredibly creepy: Harry Potter 3 initiated a new section in the series
Harry Potter grew up with his fans. Monster and Creeper also existed in the row in part 3. However, Harry Potter 3 formed a cut in the franchise in many ways. With Alfonso Cuarón, according to Chris Columbus, a new director took over – with a huge impact on the design of the series.
The staging and atmosphere changed and this can best be read using the example of the dementors. In part 2, the young viewers still had to deal with spiders and giant snakes, who can easily process childhood.
And then the train scene came: In part 3 Endern faceless, floating shadow beings the Hogwarts-Expressthat Harry, Ron and Hermione want to testify the soul so that they vegetate forever as an empty shell. A huge creepy jump. Harry Potter 3 suddenly offered tangible horror. A new, gloomy tone was set, which the series maintained until it ended.
