One of the best disaster movies that actually continues after

There are many examples in the disaster action genre that are not worth remembering. Not so Twister. The tornado adventure starring Helen Hunt, Bill Paxton and stunning effects for 1996 is now considered a cult by many. The film is on TV today.

On TV: Action film Twister will soon have a second part

In Jan De Bont’s (Speed) disaster thriller, meteorologist Jo (Hunt) must team up with her soon-to-be ex-husband Bill (Paxton) to save people in the state of Oklahoma from a series of increasingly violent storms.

Twister became a smash hit at the box office in the mid-1990s. The decisive factor was hardly the rather average script, but much more the then highly modern staging of the storms. Even today, the film is still a gripping blockbuster.

It is therefore perhaps surprising that it is only to be continued with a gap of 26 years. According to Deadline, the sequel Twisters should revolve around Jo and Bill’s daughter, who is also storm-loving. Helen Hunt may slip back into her role from the previous one.

When is Twister on TV?

However, there is no cinema date for the sequel yet. In the meantime, the fans can at least enjoy the debut again. He runs this Friday, December 2, 2022, at 8:15 p.m. on RTL II. If you don’t have time, you can catch up on the film at 2.45 a.m.
