One of the best construction games on Steam costs only 15 euros, each round is different here than the previous one

Meinmmo editor Benedict Grothaus has been raving about Against The Storm for years, a Roguelite structure on Steam. That has been getting better and better since his early access. Now it is on offer.

What kind of game is that?

  • In Against The Storm, she always builds up a settlement and has to obtain the queen’s favor. The highlight: recurring storms make it steadily more difficult to survive.
  • You search through forests and clearings, you have to put dangers and disasters and at the same time satisfy the needs of your citizens, otherwise the village goes under.
  • The further you get, the higher the rewards and you can unlock various bonuses, new buildings and effects. The game itself is getting tougher when you want it.

    • Against The Storm does that so well: Every round in the game is different. You have different requirements every time you start a new map or a new village. You can accompany you other species or you get other blueprints at hand.

    This means that you have to re-adjust every time, there is no “cookie cutter” building. Foxes have different needs than people or beavers, but also other skills – and the village should look accordingly.

    It is precisely this variety that made meinmo editor Gerd Schuhmann to invest 50 hours in Against The Storm within 4 days.

    At the end of 2024, Against The Storm got his first DLC with a new people: frogs. Both the basic game and the DLC are currently on offer on Steam:

    Against The Storm has an assessment between 92 and 95 % on Steam and is therefore very to extremely positive.
