One of the best combos in Pokémon TCG Pocket destroys opponents from turn 1

There are some powerful combinations in Pokémon TCG Pocket. Today we are introducing you to one of the best for your water deck.

In the pocket version of the Pokémon trading card game you can collect lots of fancy cards. Some of them are better than others – and the best ones can have you racking up a lot of wins pretty quickly. Especially in the current PvP event, it is important to be able to counter your opponents with strong cards.

One of the current top cards in the game is not even a monster, but a trainer card: Misty is currently making players tremble.

What makes Misty so good? Misty’s trainer card has a powerful effect:

“Choose 1 of your Water-type Pokémon and then flip a coin until it comes up tails. Attach 1 Water Energy per capita from your Energy Area to that Pokémon.”

This means: You can charge your water Pokémon extremely quickly with a lot of energy. Theoretically, this is even possible in the first round, when no energy is actually generated that you could invest. Misty still makes your Pokémon dangerous – and depending on what kind of monsters you have played and how much energy you get, that can be decisive in the game before your opponent can even start to really play.

Violent combination of Misty and Arktos-ex is hard to beat at best

That’s the combo: The combination of Arktos-ex and Misty in particular causes problems when it works. Arktos-ex is a basic Pokémon that you can play immediately without having to evolve anything. It also comes with 140 HP, which isn’t easy to get to 0.

In addition, Arktos has a powerful attack with Blizzard: It deals 80 damage to your opponent’s active Pokémon and also deals 10 damage to every opposing Pokémon that your opponent has on the bench.

If you play Arktos-ex on the first turn and then have luck with the Misty coin toss, it may happen that you can activate this powerful attack at the beginning of the game. And then it becomes difficult for your opponent to really get into the game.

Several Pokémon work with Misty

Other powerful monsters also work: In Water decks you can also play other cards that benefit greatly from Misty. These include, for example, Starmie-ex or Lapras-ex, which you can take from the current PvE event.

Another strong card that you can charge with Misty is Gyarados. Its Hyper Beam requires 4 Energy, but also does 100 damage and also drains an Energy from your opposing Pokémon. Since Gyarados also has 150 HP, it is extremely difficult to defeat. However, for Gyarados you first have to develop a Magikarp, which makes it a little more difficult to bring into play. In addition, it has no alternative attack if you don’t get the energy together.

Is Misty Pocket OP in Pokémon TCG? Nope. What is undisputed is that it is extremely powerful when its effect works well and provides you with a lot of energy in one fell swoop. At the same time, the following also applies: Misty simply cannot have any effect if the first coin toss goes wrong. For example, in order to get the four energies for Gyarados in one go, a lot has to go very well.

In addition to Misty and her water Pokémon, there are also a few other combinations in Pokémon TCG Pocket that are worthwhile.
