Anyone who enjoys slicing through floods of rat people and chaos fans with friends should now keep an eye on the latest sale on Steam. Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is 80% off for a limited time.

What kind of game is this?

  • In Warhammer: Vermintide 2 you play individual missions as one of 5 heroes with unique abilities and their own classes together with 3 other players (or NPCs).
  • The levels usually have a fixed sequence; you have to get to the end and face the rat-like Skaven or corrupted humans and beastmen.
  • Warhammer: Vermintide 2 plays similar to Left 4 Dead, only in the Warhammer fantasy universe. With new loot and new levels you can customize your heroes.

    • In recent reviews, Vermintide 2 has a rating of 80% on Steam, making it “very positive” (as of October 26th). The last sale in November brought together over 100,000 players.

    At the same time, the Halloween event “Secret Night” is currently taking place in the game. There you have to interrupt special rituals and receive exclusive cosmetic rewards. The event runs until November 5th and also provides double XP for the duration.

    In addition, the newest class, the Necromancer, was recently released as a specialization for the magician Sienna Fuegonasus, a paid DLC. As a necromancer you send the living dead into the field against your enemies. Many DLCs and expansions are also currently reduced.

    Shredding rats in a fantasy setting – who is Vermintide 2 worth it for?

    Vermintide 2 is most fun when you can play it with friends. It is ideal if you all have roughly the same level of knowledge so that no one is overwhelmed or under-challenged and you learn together. Making yourself “worse” is almost impossible in Vermintide 2.

    However, the game is aimed primarily at players with a high tolerance for frustration. A single mistake can cause your entire party to suddenly be wiped out, even on low difficulties.

    If you’re not that into the fantasy setting, you can also play the sequel Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. There you play in the dark future and can even create your own character in one of four classes.
