Alongside Keanu Reeves classics like The Matrix and Dangerous Surf, Speed is one of the outstanding action films with the star. Director Jan De Bont has one with a minimalist story incredibly exciting blockbuster shot that barely lets you breathe. The film will be shown on RTL II on Saturday, and actress Halle Berry is still annoyed about it to this day.
Action hits on TV: That’s what Speed is all about
In the simple story of the action blockbuster, police officer Jack Traven (Keanu Reeves) has to defuse a bomb under time pressure, which is on board a public bus. Behind the wheel is Annie (Sandra Bullock), who is not allowed to go below 50 miles per hour. Together, the duo has to maneuver the bomb on wheels through the hectic traffic of Los Angeles.
Halle Berry will forever regret canceling Speed
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, actress Halle Berry revealed that she Sandra Bullock turned down the role in Speed at the time. The reason for this was the script excerpt she received. In the draft, the bus didn’t even leave the parking lot and Berry didn’t know what kind of film Speed would turn into:
The producers offered me Speed before Sandra Bullock. I was so stupid and said no. […] When I watch the film now, [schreie ich].When is Speed on TV?
