The World Championships of Devon Allen, who was among the pre-favorites for the men’s fast fences, ended with a narrow false start. Next, he will focus on American football.
110 meter genuine pre-favorites read Devon Allen was eliminated in Sunday’s final. The 27-year-old American athlete was deemed to have set off just one millisecond too early.
The rules say that an athlete can set off 0.1 seconds after the start. Allen protested his dismissal, but the jury did not relent. He finally agreed to leave the track and enter the stadium.
Allen spoke in a moderate tone in the interview.
– I understand the 0.1 second rule.
He is starting from the top end.
– I have the best reaction times in the world. It’s still a shame that the faulty hardware has not been taken into account.
– However, I agree with you. They (judges) are doing their job. If the same thing had happened to someone else, I think they would have been rejected too. It’s not about favoring something else, maturely behaved Allen commented.
Allen has participated in four value competition finals. He has been fourth at the best in the Tokyo Olympics.
Allen shrugged in June by posting the third best time of all time at 12.84. It was only four hundredths Aries Merritt from the ME time almost ten years ago. Since then, the runner’s mood has been downward. He was not considered as strong a champion favorite as the one who achieved his second world championship of his career Grant Holloway.
After the World Cup, Holloway will go to Yankee football. He will play next season in the NFL in the ranks of the Philadelphia Eagles. Although the main focus in the future is American football, Allen tries to compete in track and field during the summers.
There was drama in the men’s high-speed hurdles even before the start. Olympic champion Hansle Parchment had to withdraw from the final due to injury.
The competition was won by American Holloway before his compatriot Trey Cunningham and Spain’s Asier Martinez.
