One killed in knife attack in Netherlands | News in brief

So far, the police have no information about the motive of the act.

At least one person has died and another has been seriously injured in a stabbing in the Netherlands, the police say. The attack took place late Thursday near the center of Rotterdam near the Erasmusbrug bridge.

Dutch public broadcaster NOS says that, according to eyewitnesses, the suspect shouted “Allahu Akbar” or “God is the greatest” during the knife attack.

According to the police, the suspect was also wounded in the situation and was taken to the hospital. So far, the police have no information about the motive of the act.

More detailed information about the victims or perpetrators is not known.
