Earlier this week, a car collided with a taxi in central Stockholm after a police chase.
The driver of the car, a 52-year-old man, has now been arrested.
The man is suspected of gross negligence in traffic and three cases of causing bodily harm. He has previously been convicted of over 100 traffic offences.
In February, he was sentenced to half a year in prison after two different reckless driving incidents but was never locked up – and next week he was due for a new traffic trial.
One seriously injured
It was last Wednesday night that the police were supposed to stop a car on the E4 for a check, but the driver refused to stop and a chase ensued.
At Västerbron, the police called off the pursuit, according to the police. Shortly afterwards, the car ran into a taxi at Hornstull.
Four people, including the car driver, were injured in the accident. One of them, a passenger in the taxi, was seriously injured.
The man now in custody has previously been convicted of a large number of traffic offences.
