One injured in Linköping after an alarm about loud bangs

One person has been injured after a suspected attempted murder in Linköping.
The police are using several resources to search for a suspected perpetrator, but no one has yet been arrested.
– We have started a preliminary investigation regarding attempted murder, says police spokesperson Johnny Gustavsson.

The police were alerted to loud explosions in the Berga district of Linköping at around 3 p.m.

A person was found injured at Berga church and the police are investigating the incident as attempted murder.

“The police are now working primarily to save lives,” the police write on their website.

– The person has been taken to hospital and needs urgent care, says Police spokesperson Johnny Gustavsson.

The police have set up cordons in the area and will interview any witnesses.

Drones and dog patrol have been called in to search for the suspect or suspects. At the moment, no one has been arrested, according to the police.

– This is an area where a lot of people move around and there are quite a few who have seen something that is associated with this incident, says Johnny Gustavsson.

Will investigate connection to fatal shooting

Late on Monday evening, a man was shot to death in central Norrköping. According to the police, it is too early to say whether the events have any connection to each other.

– It is clear that we will investigate that possibility in time, but it is a bit too early to draw any such conclusions. But of course we will keep that in mind, there are not many miles between them.
