A small Cessna 150 aircraft attempted to make an emergency landing on the popular Santa Monica beach in the Los Angeles area on Thursday. The pilot seems to have lost control of the plane, which instead flipped around in the water’s edge.
The plane’s only passenger, a 95-year-old man, has been pronounced dead. No information has been released on the pilot’s condition. The US aviation authority FAA is investigating the accident.
